My weight loss journey began when I realized I needed to make a change for my health. I started by setting realistic goals and creating a plan that worked for my lifestyle. Here are the key strategies that helped me lose 40 pounds:

1. Regular Exercise Routine

I started with 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week, gradually increasing to 45-60 minutes. My routine included a mix of cardio (walking, cycling, swimming) and strength training. Consistency was more important than intensity, and I made sure to find activities I enjoyed to stay motivated.

2. Healthy Eating Habits

I focused on whole, nutrient-dense foods and made sure to stay hydrated. Here are some of the dietary changes that made the biggest difference:

  • Eating more vegetables and fruits
  • Choosing lean proteins like chicken, fish, and legumes
  • Reducing processed foods and added sugars
  • Practicing portion control
  • Eating regular meals to avoid extreme hunger
